Administrator for Medinah Christian School
Medinah Baptist Church in Medinah, Illinois has an immediate opening for Administrator for Medinah Christian School, grades K-‐8, including pre-‐school and pre-‐kindergarten.
The administrator shall prayerfully develop and maintain a school that is thoroughly Christian in every area. The administrator shall provide an academically sound environment for the student body that he serves. He or she shall be a responsible leader of the school and its entire program. The administrator shall become a member of Medinah Baptist Church and seek to promote the programs of the church and make the school an integral part of growing the church.
The Administrator will report directly to the Medinah Christian School Board of Education and indirectly to the Senior Pastor of Medinah Baptist Church.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead the faculty in continuous curriculum evaluation and development so that the total curriculum is evaluated periodically
- Lead the school in maintaining state recognition and ACSI certification
- Work with the faculty continuously to refine the aims and objectives of Christian education and plan strategies for their attainment
- Work effectively with Church Staff members in collaborating about the children and youth ministries of the entire MBC community
- Has primary responsibility for effective management of the school budget as Chief Financial Officer
The Administrator shall among other qualifications:
- Be a born-‐again believer in Jesus Christ
- Become a member in good standing and active participant in Medinah Baptist Church
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in educational administration, and a minimum of three years experience in classroom teaching and/or administrative experience.

Administrative Assistant
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Administrator and or Department Chairs is responsible for making independent decisions, within defined limits, that work to uphold and accomplish the mission and vision of Medinah Christian School. The position requires knowledge of school policies, rules, regulations, and functions. The ability to transcribe taped and verbal dictation, type a variety of documents and correspondence, direct public inquires, enter data, and establish and maintain general and confidential files is a mainstay of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transcribes taped and verbal dictation and prepares routine correspondence on own initiative. Using word processing, spreadsheet and database applications on a computer, type a variety of correspondence and other documents from dictation, rough draft, written or verbal instructions, which may include minutes of meetings, letters, agendas, bids, statistical and numerical reports, price quotations for purchase orders, procedural manuals, budgets, forms, and special reports.
Receives visitors to the school and schedules, revises, and cancels appointments for the Administrator and staff. Screens incoming telephone calls, mail and other correspondence and prioritizes these by level of importance. Creates and maintains various database records utilizing database software applications and composes routine letters and answers routine requests for information. Creates and maintains confidential and general files, records and correspondence.
Must possess excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
Must work to promote Medinah Christian School and Medinah Baptist Church.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Bookkeeper
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Administrator and School Board is responsible for making independent judgement of important issues, within the confines of established policies and procedures and that upholds the mission and vision of Medinah Christian School. The position requires a strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices, school policies, rules, regulations, and functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions.
Duties:
- Develop system to account for financial transactions by esablishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
- Maintain various databases to support school operations including web-based tuition portal, school intranet, and outside payroll service. Coordination of data from these systems into the general ledger for compiling monthly financial statements and budget reports as needed.
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to substantiate transactions posted.
- Preparation of cash flow analysis to identify cash needs on a weekly basis. Timely communication to School Board of excess and deficits in cash position.
- Semi-monthly recalculation of tuition payments from third party administration to verify reasonableness.
- Review of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings from outside payroll service.
- Establish and maintain record keeping for current and historical accounting transactions.
- Data entry of accounting transactions into QuickBooks accounting software in accordance with
established internal control processes.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Coordination of financial results of fundraising and social events between committee chairs and school staff. Verify the completeness of the accounting transactions into the QuickBooks software.
- Coordinate the TRIP program with PTF and verify that proper rebates are received by School and posted to family accounts on a timely basis.
- Respond on a timely and courteous basis to accounting inquiries from staff and families.
- Accept responsibility for special projects on a case by case basis.
